About the position

The Senior Network Security Engineer will be a key member of Enpro's corporate Information Security Team, responsible for monitoring and securing both IT and OT network environments globally. This role emphasizes the use of Palo Alto hardware and software to enhance the organization's security posture through architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of network security platforms. The engineer will collaborate with IT teams to promote network security standards and support incident response processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and support Enpro's Palo Alto network security infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Support network security modernization efforts and strategies focused on protecting both IT and OT environments.
  • Investigate and remediate network security incidents and outages, collaborating closely with other IT teams during and after business hours.
  • Drive implementation projects of new and upgraded network and security infrastructure supporting Zero Trust, Microsegmentation, and modern WAN architecture initiatives.
  • Create network security architecture standards, and support projects which align to standards.
  • Support regulatory compliance projects and initiatives.
  • Support assessments of organizational security, vulnerabilities, and risk.
  • Create and maintain network security documentation.
  • Focus on driving security efficiencies, enabling security team members to work on more advanced tasks.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience configuring, designing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto hardware and software applications
  • Experience securing hybrid and public cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Advanced experience supporting network security infrastructure (firewalls / IDS / IPS, proxies)
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  • Experience configuring, designing, and troubleshooting modern LAN/WAN technologies is a plus
  • Experience supporting security log monitoring
  • Solid understanding of cloud security risks
  • Knowledge of common cybersecurity attack patterns
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with team members globally

  • Industry certifications (PCNSE, PCCSE, CCNA, CCNP Sec, CISSP, GCIH, etc.)
  • Enterprise project management experience
  • Network and Security architecture experience
  • Exposure to industry cybersecurity frameworks (ATT&CK, NIST CSF, Cyber Kill Chain, etc.)
  • Experiencing supporting industry and regulatory compliance frameworks such as PCI, ISO, DFARS, ITAR, NIST, and Sarbanes-Oxley
