About the position

The Senior Network Security Engineer at Rocket Lab is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network security infrastructure. This role is critical in supporting the infrastructure for various sites and ensuring the highest level of security for network operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, particularly in 802.1X deployment and management, and experience with NIST 800-53 network security controls and Darktrace systems.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain 802.1X authentication across the network infrastructure.
• Implement and manage NIST 800-53 network security controls to ensure the highest level of security for the network.
• Provide support for Darktrace systems and contribute to the continuous improvement of the network security posture.
• Conduct network security threat hunting activities to proactively identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Lead incident response efforts, including the investigation and remediation of network security incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of network security experience, and a bachelor's degree; or equivalent years of work experience (9+ years total experience).
• Experience in network security authentication implementation and management.
• Strong understanding of security protocols and encryption methods.
