About the position

AECOM is seeking a talented SENIOR OCS (Overhead Catenary Systems) Engineer to join our World Class Rail team in Philadelphia! The ideal candidate will be part of the Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) Engineering team responsible for a variety of engineering tasks including, but not limited to planning, conceptual engineering, design, final engineering, constructability, and cost estimating. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on some signature projects with some of the largest transit agencies in the country. As a Senior OCS Engineer, you will serve as the lead engineer on mid- to large-size projects. You will apply your knowledge and understanding of rail design, rail operations, and construction on or about a railroad, including overhead catenary systems, traction power substations, signals and communications systems, and track layout. Your responsibilities will include developing overhead catenary systems layout drawings, profiles, hanger tabulations, erection diagrams, and technical specifications. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS). This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of projects that enhance the efficiency and safety of rail systems. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and other professionals to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet the needs of our clients and contribute to the overall success of AECOM's transportation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead engineer on mid- to large-size projects.
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of rail design, rail operations, and construction on or about a railroad.
  • Develop overhead catenary systems layout drawings, profiles, hanger tabulations, erection diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS).

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 years of related experience in railway systems (Overhead Catenary Systems/Traction Power/Track).

Nice-to-haves
