About the position

The Senior Offshore Termination & Joint Inspector is responsible for overseeing high voltage (HV) system integration, ensuring operational supervision, and enforcing electrical safety rules across high, medium, and low voltage systems. This role involves conducting inspections of cable systems at offshore locations, witnessing various testing procedures, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements. The position offers an opportunity to work within the growing Offshore Wind industry in the United States, contributing to sustainable energy initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Be point of contact from cable package array & export on jack up barge during commissioning.
  • Act as the liaison between cable packages and commissioning teams.
  • Join daily calls and meetings to discuss project progress.
  • Oversee the installation of cable trays and preparation work prior to cable pull-in.
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections of termination work and report back to scope leads.
  • Review and plan documentation prior to JUV arrival.
  • Prepare daily progress reports for the Array or Export Cable Technical Scope Manager.
  • Review contractor's daily progress reporting and update progress tables.
  • Manage project documentation according to records management protocols.
  • Ensure timely execution of cable testing activities and availability of necessary test equipment.
  • Collect and report weather data relevant to operations.
  • Conduct inspections including punch list follow-ups and non-conformance notifications to cable project engineers.
  • Interface with cable installation contractors and relevant packages such as WTG, FOU, and OSS.
  • Prepare end-of-shift passing over reports and review testing documentation for compliance.
  • Participate in ROC drills and mock-up trials as applicable.

  • Firefighting course
  • Sea survival and transfer training
  • Climbing and Rescue at heights training
  • Confined space training
  • Helicopter transfer training
  • NFPA 70E training (US)
  • HV/MV Jointing training or experience (desirable)
  • VLF testing training or experience (desirable)
  • OTDR testing training or experience (desirable)
  • Experience in Safe Work in High Voltage Substation Environments
  • Experience in Safe Work in Low Voltage Substation Environments
  • Skills in HV/MV cable jointing/termination
  • Knowledge of cable ladder/cleating systems and subsea cable hang off systems
  • Understanding of earthing and bonding of cable systems
  • Familiarity with CDM regulations 2015
  • Experience with Client's IT tools/procedures (preferable)
