About the position

The Senior Oncology Specialist at Amgen serves as a primary liaison to medical professionals, providing clinical knowledge of oncology products and driving sales in the Southern NJ and northern MD territories. This role is crucial in advancing Amgen's mission to serve patients by effectively communicating the clinical and economic benefits of their innovative oncology treatments. The position requires a strong background in oncology sales, strategic planning, and relationship management to achieve sales targets and enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer contact to provide clinical knowledge of Amgen's oncology products.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan to achieve sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to manage accounts and resolve reimbursement issues.
  • Craft effective marketing strategies to drive sales.
  • Analyze business effectiveness and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Maintain passion for oncology products throughout the sales cycle.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and foster continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience, or an Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience.
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology or related fields.
  • Local market knowledge.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
