About the position

The Senior Operational Reporting & Data Analyst plays a crucial role in analyzing data, configuring databases, and developing reports to deliver business intelligence insights. This position involves collaboration across business lines and requires gathering requirements from leadership to enhance data and reporting tools. The analyst may also mentor junior reporting analysts, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop departmental databases and conduct analysis to prepare reports and deliver business intelligence information.
• Create and execute standard and custom reports using MS SQL Server data query tools.
• Work with business areas to establish eligibility data exchange and write data mapping specifications for custom file layouts.
• Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques, providing ongoing reports.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in moderate to large data sets.
• Document and improve existing business processes, including automation and database management.
• Develop data validation tools and techniques, executing quality control processes to ensure data accuracy.
• Research discrepancies in data and identify solutions to prevent future issues.
• Create SQL queries for business areas and guide lower-level Reporting Analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related degree required.
• Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• 4 years of experience providing operational reporting required.
• 2 years of experience creating/building queries and reports, performing data manipulation, analysis, and executing ad hoc reporting required.
• Experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Experience in building complex queries and executing statistical reports.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint.
