About the position

Toyota's Cybersecurity & Risk Management (CSRM) group is on a mission to become a global leader in cybersecurity within the mobility space. We are looking for a Senior Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Cyber Protection team in Plano, TX. This role is pivotal in deploying and maintaining advanced, enterprise-wide security solutions that protect our manufacturing processes and systems. As a member of our team, you will be at the forefront of defining next-generation cybersecurity capabilities for one of the largest global companies in the world. In this position, you will work on complex products and initiatives that require a deep understanding of operational technology and vulnerability management. You will serve as a subject matter expert, creating and administering security solutions tailored for automotive plants. Your responsibilities will include establishing and managing threat analyses and vulnerability assessments, ensuring that our manufacturing cybersecurity needs are met across multiple teams. You will also provide technology guidance throughout the manufacturing security domain, adhering to the organization's vision and decision-making framework. Your insights will be crucial as you communicate with senior leadership teams about the current posture and future vision of our comprehensive manufacturing cybersecurity program. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation of information security within Toyota, making a significant impact on our operations and overall security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational technology (OT) cybersecurity solutions for automotive plants.
  • Establish and manage threat analyses and vulnerability assessments related to plant security.
  • Review, analyze, and develop implementation plans to support manufacturing cybersecurity needs across multiple teams.
  • Provide technology guidance throughout the manufacturing security domain.
  • Communicate insights to senior leadership regarding the current and future cybersecurity posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with IEC 62443 or NIST Cybersecurity Framework Version 1.1 Manufacturing Profile: NISTIR 8183.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer security architectures and protocols, including firewalls, DMZs, remote access/VPN, wireless LANs, penetration testing, and web security.
  • Experience with industrial control systems or operational technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, MES, SCADA, and MOM.
  • Strong written and communication skills to effectively convey security-related concepts to both technical and non-technical staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • GICSP, CISSP, or other related/equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with threat & vulnerability management programs.
  • Extensive operational technology experience.
