The Senior Operations Analyst at FHLBank San Francisco plays a crucial role in the analysis and management of the Bank's Asset/Liability Portfolios. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing, control, documentation, accounting, and reporting for a variety of financial transactions, including Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS), Letters of Credit, Advances, Investments, Deposits, Derivatives, and Consolidated Obligations. The analyst will also provide support for the Member Settlement Transaction Accounts, ensuring that all financial assets and liabilities are managed in accordance with bank policies and procedures. In this role, the analyst will be tasked with the daily performance of the Bank's financial instruments servicing functions. This includes proactively challenging the status quo, identifying process inefficiencies, and recommending or developing continuous process improvement solutions through automation or business process changes. The analyst will perform daily and monthly updates and analytical reviews to ensure accurate reporting and maintenance of the Bank's general ledger and databases, reflecting the Bank's financial assets and liabilities accurately. The position requires leading the review of daily reconciliation and control reports, investigating and resolving complex exception items, and cross-training less experienced team members. The analyst will utilize their technical expertise to research complex issues and assist management with oversight of respective areas, ensuring that system enhancements meet operational requirements. Additionally, the analyst will verify all settlements for processing, reconcile trade execution and lifecycle payments, and prepare month-end general ledger certifications and quarterly financial/regulatory reports. The role also involves ensuring that written procedures are current and accurately reflect departmental functions, as well as preparing reports for management, auditors, and regulators.
