About the position

The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a motivated, energetic Senior Operations and Business Manager / Analyst to support the Navy in the development and application of cutting-edge high-performance computing (HPC) software and network architectures. This contingent position is expected to start in late summer or early fall 2024 and will support the Office of Naval Research and the Naval Research Laboratory on-site in the National Capital Region, from ARA facilities, travel locations, and via telecommuting when approved. In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with senior US Government and Allied personnel to assess and identify logistics requirements, coordinate, and facilitate equipment transfers and shipments to ensure on-time delivery for critical missions. The position requires a strong background in operations management and business analysis, particularly within the context of defense and military operations. The candidate will be responsible for transitioning research and development systems to operational use, managing change requests, and developing information assurance documents. The role demands a thorough understanding of DoD tactical operational testing environments and the ability to navigate complex logistical challenges in support of military objectives. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the strategic planning and execution of projects that align with the goals of the Navy and its research initiatives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BS with 10-12 years of relevant experience OR 18+ years of relative experience in lieu of a degree.
  • DoD TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Demonstrated experience transitioning R&D systems to operational use.
  • Demonstrated experience with change requests.
  • Experience with DoD tactical operational testing environments.
  • Experience in developing information assurance documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in scientific, technical, business management, or other related discipline.
