About the position

The position at Thermo Fisher Scientific involves contributing to financial and business objectives through accurate financial analysis and reporting for complex projects. The role requires collaboration across various departments to resolve issues related to revenue, costs, and financial reporting, ultimately improving health outcomes globally.

Responsibilities

  • Administers the daily financial management of complex contracts and/or strategic partnership accounts.
  • Performs cash flow and variance analysis for assigned projects and creates accurate project budgets.
  • Conducts regular reconciliations and analysis of revenues and billing on a project and company level.
  • Creates financial tools, dashboards, and trackers by manipulating large datasets.
  • Provides financial guidance to operations management and other staff.
  • Coordinates timely and accurate invoicing for sponsors and ensures collection of amounts due.
  • Tracks and maintains project information and budgets within the project accounting system.
  • Participates in the development of financial reports, tools, systems, policies, and processes.
  • Provides decision-making support to management regarding revenue and gross profit risks.
  • Interacts with leadership through presentations of data analysis and dashboards.
  • Mentors and leads team members, making recommendations for process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices.
  • Project leadership and consultancy skills with the ability to partner effectively with internal clients.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SharePoint, VBA, SQL, Power BI, or RPA is advantageous.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience in financial tools and processes.
