About the position

The Senior Operations Finance Analyst at Thermo Fisher Scientific plays a crucial role in achieving financial and business objectives through accurate financial analysis and reporting for complex projects. This position involves cross-functional collaboration with operations and commercial finance teams to address issues related to revenue, costs, and financial reporting, ultimately contributing to improved health outcomes globally.

Responsibilities

• Administers the daily financial management of complex contracts and/or strategic partnership accounts.
• Performs cash flow and variance analysis for assigned projects and creates financial tools and dashboards.
• Provides financial guidance to operations management and other staff.
• Coordinates timely and accurate invoicing for sponsors and ensures collection of amounts due.
• Leads analysis of cost assignments and ensures compliance with cost accounting standards.
• Tracks and interprets project information and budgets within the project accounting system.
• Provides decision-making support to management regarding revenue and gross profit risks.
• Interacts with leadership through presentations of data analysis and dashboards.
• Serves as a mentor and lead for team members.
• Makes recommendations for process improvements and participates in special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Sophisticated knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SharePoint, VBA, SQL, Power BI, or RPA is advantageous.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is an advantage.
• Experience in project leadership and consultancy.
