About the position

As a Senior Operations Manager at Helen of Troy, you will play a crucial role in leading and mentoring the logistics and distribution team to ensure operational excellence across our trusted brands. This position focuses on meeting customer requirements, improving processes, and developing future leaders within the organization. You will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and be responsible for overseeing various operational aspects, including safety, production, quality, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and audit safety, production, quality, and inventory transactions to ensure compliance with processes.
  • Mentor supervisors on employee relations and daily work issues, including scheduling and efficiency.
  • Assess Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) for workflow efficiency.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and advise on labor adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor order queues to balance replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
  • Participate in configuration testing of WMS and WCS for efficiency improvements post-system changes.
  • Manage problem orders transparently and resolve issues proactively with partners.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives that support performance metrics and distribution planning.
  • Recruit and develop future department leaders with a focus on succession planning.
  • Manage team performance and collaborate with HR on talent development and performance improvement plans.
  • Provide troubleshooting techniques and participate in addressing process and system issues on the floor.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on forecasts to anticipate system and equipment modifications for cost-effective operations.
  • Ensure all customer deadlines and quality assurance processes are met.
  • Participate in customer service calls, production meetings, and management meetings.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience in leading operations teams.
  • Experience with Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Preferred experience with Manhattan WMS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to apply analytical tools to make decisions based on customer expectations.
