About the position

The Senior Operations Manager at Stanley Black and Decker will oversee the daily operations of the plant in Willard, Ohio. This role involves managing subordinate operation managers, fostering a safety-first culture, guiding operational leaders to meet service and quality standards, and implementing process improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. The position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the day-to-day activities of the plant's operations through subordinate operation Managers.
  • Foster a 'safety first' culture through awareness, training, and accountability.
  • Provide guidance to help other operational leaders achieve established standards of service, quality, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Develop and set clear goals and expectations regarding performance and accountability, providing regular constructive feedback.
  • Plan and execute priorities, proactively structuring resources for individual and team success.
  • Solve complex problems and collaborate with problem-solving teams.
  • Seek measures that reduce rework and scrap to improve profit margin.
  • Manage the development of new production processes and Engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to operations.
  • Leverage Lean Six Sigma and analytical skills to identify gaps and implement process improvements.
  • Provide support and training to Managers and Supervisors to meet or exceed Plant Measurables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business.
  • Ten years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership and management abilities.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to conduct meetings and presentations.
  • Experience in Change Management and Continuous Improvement.
