About the position

The Value Stream Leader for the Grove City Remanufacturing facility will have full business leadership responsibility for the daily operations of multiple machine and assembly production lines. This role is pivotal in leading a team of exempt and hourly employees in the execution of continuous improvement activities focused on defined targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a strong culture of teamwork that balances employee, business, and customer needs, ensuring that all operations align with Wabtec's commitment to performance and progress. In this position, the Value Stream Leader will utilize lean manufacturing skills to foster a culture of continuous improvement. This includes driving and sustaining a culture of accountability, compliance, and operational excellence among both hourly and exempt workforce. The leader will ensure that all assigned employees are aware of and comply with all Wabtec, government, customer, and applicable policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Administrative activities associated with effective management of shop operations will also be a key responsibility, including necessary interface activities with other functions and organizations required to accomplish all objectives. The Value Stream Leader will develop necessary capacity and business contingency plans to ensure continued ability to deliver to customers when demand changes or facility problems arise. Ongoing leadership, counseling, and support for the plant team will be essential, guiding them in their current positions and assisting with career development and training. The leader will also assure commitment in their own and others' actions to pursue the highest possible quality of services and products delivered to customers. Presenting product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders across the organization will be a critical aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of multiple machine and assembly production lines.

  • Present product/program strategies and recommendations to senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing and Operations Management.
  • Experience in heavy industry manufacturing, e.g., rail, automotive, aerospace, mining, energy, construction.
  • Depth in EHS, shop operations, customer services operations, quality, and materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to adapt and flex in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, improve culture, and influence others.
  • Strong track record of coaching and team engagement skills.
  • Strong understanding of operations and business financials and analysis, and project/program management.
