This role is pivotal in supporting the United States Air Force (USAF) logistics transformation by utilizing cutting-edge technologies to streamline and accelerate processes. The position is based onsite at Wright Patterson AFB, where the selected candidate will engage actively in their role, make informed decisions, and be accountable for all outcomes while serving as a positive influence and ambassador for LMI. The Senior Operations Research Analyst will be responsible for logistics, supply chain, and weapon systems analysis to support logistics operations. This includes applying advanced analytical methods to assist the client organization in making better, data-driven decisions and solving complex problems. The analyst will evaluate logistics processes and develop recommendations for system improvements, using analytical models to assess operational capability, compute spare parts requirements, and determine maintenance levels of repair. Additionally, the role involves providing sustainment requirements and cost estimates, supporting maintenance planning concepts, and analyzing supply support concepts to identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes. The analyst will also analyze and assess government agency logistics and supply chain policies against current performance metrics, making recommendations for policy and process improvements. This position supports projects aimed at redesigning or enhancing system support via supply chains and contributes to fleet introduction and sustainment readiness reviews. The analyst will maintain interim operating procedures to support requirements in a client-approved database developed for site activation, along with additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for logistics, supply chain, and weapon systems analysis to support logistics operations, including math modeling, logistics operations research, and systems analysis and programming.
  • Evaluate logistics processes and develop recommendations for system improvements.
  • Use analytical models to assess operational capability, compute spare parts requirements, compute stock leveling, and maintenance/levels of repair.
  • Provide sustainment requirements and cost estimates.
  • Support maintenance planning concepts and analyze and deliver recommendations for adjustments to optimize maintenance intervention.
  • Deliver recommendations for adjustment of supply support concepts, including identification of areas for improvements in manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze and assess government agency logistics and supply chain policies against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements.
  • Support projects that redesign or enhance system support via supply chains.
  • Support fleet introduction and sustainment readiness reviews with an understanding of program documentation and planning.
  • Maintain interim operating procedures to support requirements in a client-approved database.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in DoD logistics and/or supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of advanced modeling, networking, scheduling, and inventory optimization systems and techniques.
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, and ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry.
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage shifting priorities.
  • Must hold a current U.S. Government SECRET clearance or be eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering related discipline.
  • Applicants currently holding or eligible for TOP SECRET or TS/SCI clearance.
