About the position

The Senior Operations Scheduler is a key role within the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation & Public Works, responsible for developing and adjusting bus and rail schedules to enhance the efficiency of the transportation system. This position plays a crucial part in the ongoing improvements to the Better Bus Network, ensuring increased accessibility for daily riders across Miami-Dade County.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations and Service Planning Staff to develop and adjust existing bus and rail schedules.
• Utilize advanced computerized scheduling software to optimize transit operations.
• Develop bus and rail operator schedules that define the workday for DTPW operators.
• Support the Scheduling Department in upgrading scheduling software and increasing capacity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Math, Statistics, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
• Four years of experience in transit scheduling for a medium to large transportation system.
• Experience in run cutting for developing bus and rail operator schedules.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using advanced computerized scheduling software.
