About the position

The Senior Operations Specialist at Waste Management plays a crucial role in providing advanced clerical and administrative support to departmental managers. This position is designed for individuals who have significant experience in administrative and operational support roles, allowing them to perform at a higher level of responsibility with minimal supervision compared to entry-level specialists. The specialist is expected to handle a variety of tasks that may be complex in nature, resolving most questions and problems independently while referring only the most intricate issues to higher management levels. In this role, the Senior Operations Specialist will assist in troubleshooting and resolving safety, service, and operational issues that arise within the department. Daily responsibilities include creating, distributing, and closing out customer tickets, maintaining and disseminating department-related information, and communicating with supervisors and managers regarding operational and dispatch issues. The specialist will also be responsible for completing and maintaining various reports as directed by the department manager, utilizing software tools to manage tasks related to procurement, time and attendance, safety incidents, and contract labor. Additionally, the specialist will assist with data collection and reporting necessary for incentive pay programs, process payments and other financial tasks, and support the implementation of operational projects as needed. Communication with customers regarding service issues and with employees about scheduling and work assignments is also a key part of this role. The position may involve entering and maintaining Service Machine SMART data on a daily basis, along with performing other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in troubleshooting and resolving safety, service, and operational issues.

  • Assists with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs.
  • Assists with the processing of payments and other financial tasks as necessary.
  • Assists in the implementation of operational projects as needed.
  • Communicates with customers about service issues as needed.
  • Communicates with employees about scheduling and work assignments as needed.
  • May enter and maintain Service Machine SMART data on a daily basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. (accredited).
  • Three years relevant work experience in a comparable role.
  • Knowledge and practical ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office software.
  • Must live and work in the U.S.
