About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will partner with group managers to design and implement strategic data initiatives that align with the company's goals. Your responsibilities will include performing complex statistical analyses and applying these insights to support various business strategies. You will leverage your broad technical and business knowledge to anticipate emerging issues and recommend subsequent strategies and business directions. As a Senior Operations Specialist, you will manage or participate in large cross-group projects, making decisions on matters that may have financial implications and associated risks. Collaboration is key in this role; you will work closely with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve shared goals. Additionally, you will oversee the daily review of moderately complex supplier account activities throughout the source-to-pay processes. A critical aspect of your role will be to drive the quality assurance of supplier onboarding through our Ariba platform, ensuring that deficiencies are monitored and tracked efficiently. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the integrity of supplier records and ensuring compliance with regulatory policies, including OFAC, Financial Crimes, IRS FATCA law, and VAT reporting. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while being self-motivated. You will also be responsible for addressing escalations to support and improve Supplier Enablement Operations, ensuring that all processes align with Wells Fargo's commitment to risk management and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with group managers to design and implement strategic data initiatives.
  • Perform complex statistical analysis and apply findings to support business strategies.
  • Anticipate emerging issues using broad technical and business knowledge.
  • Recommend strategies and business directions based on analysis.
  • Manage or participate in large cross-group projects.
  • Make decisions on matters with financial impact and risk.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Complete and oversee daily review of supplier account activities throughout the source-to-pay processes.
  • Drive quality assurance of supplier onboarding through the Ariba platform.
  • Monitor and track deficiencies in supplier onboarding efficiently.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Subject Matter Expert in PeopleSoft Financials, Ariba Supplier Lifecycle Performance, and Ariba Business Network.
  • Knowledge of regulatory policies, including OFAC, Financial Crimes, IRS FATCA law, and 1099 reporting, and VAT in supplier records review.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external partners to resolve issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with answering escalations to support Supplier Enablement Operations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
