About the position

SAIC is looking for a highly experienced Optical Engineer to provide Systems Engineering services to a Government customer. The role requires a solid understanding of optical networks and hands-on experience with optical equipment, along with a strong systems engineering background to develop, flow-down, and verify systems requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide Systems Engineering services to a Government customer.
• Manipulate and maintain optical equipment in a lab environment.
• Develop, flow-down, and verify systems requirements.
• Advise staff on the technical merits of solutions.
• Prepare Statements of Work and manage Requirements and Risk Management.
• Conduct advanced technology research and development, including testing and demonstrations.

Requirements

• Must currently hold a TS/SCI & Poly security clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar field.
• 14+ years of Systems Engineering or relevant experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of optical engineering practices and principles.
• Ability to advise staff on technical solutions and prepare Statements of Work.
• Experience in Requirements and Risk Management.
