About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), you will be responsible for developing and enhancing applications on the Oracle Application Express (APEX) platform. This role involves working with a diverse team to solve complex problems in high-performance distributed systems, focusing on both front-end and back-end development. You will engage with business analysts and end-users to ensure that the applications meet business requirements and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, testing, and documenting new applications on the APEX platform.
• Supporting and enhancing existing applications on the APEX platform.
• Performing system analysis and development tasks.
• Analyzing functional business requirements to develop solutions and create technical specifications.
• Partnering with business analysts and engineering resources to evaluate business requirements and deliver required features.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5 years of experience with Oracle APEX, with experience in recent releases such as 23.x being a plus.
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end development.
• In-depth knowledge of logical/physical database design and strong experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Good understanding of database inter-connectivity and data transfer methods such as REST.
• Intermediate experience in modern web technologies (HTML 5, CSS 3, jQuery, JavaScript).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Awareness of libraries such as the Oracle JavaScript Extension Toolkit (JET).
• Experience designing, adapting, and implementing technical solutions aligned with business strategy.
