About the position

As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator at Crunchtime, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our database systems, specifically focusing on Oracle Goldengate 21c Microservices. Your primary responsibilities will include deploying Goldengate to facilitate data replication between Oracle and Snowflake databases, maintaining Oracle 19c database clusters, and ensuring the reliability of our disaster recovery site with Oracle standby databases. You will also be tasked with automating deployment and maintenance tasks, collaborating with development teams on design and code optimization, and participating in an on-call rotation to support our database systems around the clock. In this position, you will be expected to demonstrate a passion for database administration, showcasing a meticulous attention to detail and a positive attitude. You will work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to various projects while also taking ownership of your responsibilities. Your experience with deploying and administering Oracle 12c/19c multi-node RAC databases in on-premise infrastructure, as well as your expertise in Oracle Data Guard physical standby databases, will be essential. Additionally, you will leverage your skills in performance tuning of high-transactional OLTP databases and PL/SQL programming to automate routine tasks effectively. The role requires a commitment to excellence and a proactive approach to problem-solving, as you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and availability of our database systems. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, supporting our mission to deliver top-tier software solutions to the food industry.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy Goldengate 21c Microservices to replicate data between Oracle and Snowflake databases
  • Maintain Oracle 19c database clusters
  • Maintain DR site with Oracle standby databases
  • Automate deployment and maintenance tasks
  • Work with development on design and code optimization
  • Participate in the on-call rotation

Requirements

  • Experience in deploying and administering Oracle 12c/19c multi-node RAC databases in on-premise infrastructure
  • Experience in deploying and administering Oracle Data Guard physical standby databases
  • Experience in performance tuning of high-transactional OLTP databases
  • Experience in PL/SQL programming and automation of routine tasks
  • OEM use and administration
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for database administration
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of RedHat linux
  • Basic understanding of SAN and storage arrays
  • Basic understanding of computer networks
  • Experience in bash or python programming
  • Experience in ATEX administration and programming
