About the position

As the Senior Oracle Systems Engineer at GXO, you will play a pivotal role in the design, build, and maintenance of the environments and infrastructure that support our global financial systems. This position is focused on automating and optimizing both cloud and on-premises environments to ensure reliability, performance, and security. You will collaborate closely with development teams, both internal and third-party, as well as operations teams to implement best practices, streamline deployment processes, and enable continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD). Your work will empower teams to efficiently deliver high-quality software and applications while providing a robust and resilient platform that meets both business and technical requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle Identity Cloud Service (OIC) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. This includes configuring and administering OIC policies, identity providers, and access management settings, as well as ensuring security and compliance with industry best practices. You will also monitor and troubleshoot OIC-related issues, manage OCI resources, and implement security policies within OCI environments. Your responsibilities will extend to planning and executing cloud-related projects, ensuring smooth implementation and deployment of new services, and maintaining documentation for OIC and OCI environments. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud computing, and work closely with other financial platform administrators to ensure the integrity and performance of the systems. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud security principles, proficiency in scripting languages, and experience with CI/CD pipeline tools. Your ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with various teams will be essential to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain environments and infrastructure for global financial systems.
  • Automate and optimize cloud and on-premises environments for reliability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement best practices and streamline deployment processes.
  • Manage and maintain Oracle Identity Cloud Service (OIC) environments, including configuration and administration of policies and access management settings.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot OIC-related issues and provide support to development teams.
  • Manage and maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments and resources, including compute, storage, and networking.
  • Implement and maintain security policies and practices within OCI environments.
  • Plan and execute cloud-related projects, including migrations and upgrades.
  • Document procedures, policies, and configurations for OIC and OCI environments.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud computing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent related work or military experience.
  • 2 years of experience in administering Oracle Identity Cloud Service (OIC), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Oracle Integration Cloud/ODI.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience in administering Oracle Identity Cloud Service (OIC), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Oracle Integration Cloud/ODI.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell and/or VBCS.
  • Experience with cloud management and monitoring tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with various components of the CI/CD pipeline tools such as GiT, Jenkins, Puppet, Bamboo, BitBucket, Maven.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Single Sign On, MFA, and Azure.
  • Technical familiarity with Oracle Fusion, OBN, EPBCS, HFM, EDM.
  • Experience with network and security protocols.
  • Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect).
