About the position

The Senior Organizational Development Consultant at Houston Methodist is responsible for assessing organizational needs, recommending and implementing development interventions, and evaluating their effectiveness to support the organization's strategic objectives. This role focuses on enhancing leadership effectiveness, managing change, and improving organizational performance, particularly at the Director and Executive levels. The consultant collaborates with key stakeholders to design and execute improvement plans that drive employee engagement and organizational success.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct organizational assessments and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Implement interventions and follow up to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Conduct leadership coaching for management levels, especially at the Director/Executive level.
  • Lead talent assessment and succession planning initiatives.
  • Facilitate the new leader assimilation process, including Birkman assessments.
  • Research and develop leadership program materials and training content.
  • Serve as an internal consultant for various organizational levels.
  • Design and execute change management activities in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Lead small-scale and large-scale organizational development projects.
  • Assess needs, diagnose problems, and determine appropriate interventions to enhance effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in organizational development, industrial psychology, social work, HR management, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in an organizational development role, including training, coaching, and leadership development.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience in a formal leadership role preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Vendor certification in assessment tools such as Birkman, Crucial Conversations, or Change Management (ADKAR).
