About the position

The Senior OT & Control Systems Cyber Security Manager will join the GSC Engineering OT Security team to develop, implement, and support technologies and processes that protect Operational Technology (OT) environments from cyber security threats. This role involves defining and delivering innovative technologies to mitigate OT cyber security risks, ensuring safety, quality, and reputation of GSC Manufacturing Operations. The individual will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in OT Cyber Security, embedding good security practices across GSC manufacturing sites and setting the direction for the OT security strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of GSK technology, systems, and processes to protect manufacturing operations from cyber security threats.
  • Examine, design, and document reference architectures for manufacturing automation systems aligned to industry standards.
  • Work with key vendors to assess vulnerabilities and develop appropriate mitigation activities.
  • Educate GSC site automation engineers and technicians on OT cyber security best practices and standards.
  • Define standards and review OT firewall rules to maximize protection of systems on the OT network.
  • Respond to cyber security incidents and alerts with urgency across GSC sites.
  • Define logging, alerting, and patching processes to mitigate cyber security risks.
  • Ensure OT systems are protected with appropriate cyber security controls based on defense in depth principles.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit/Global Tech groups to deliver secure network infrastructure and segmentation.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic OT security solutions such as secure remote access and OT access management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
  • 5 years of experience in technical roles involving IT infrastructure and OT Cyber Security technologies/processes.
  • 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Automation/OT systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Effective communication skills to interface with operational and senior management.
  • Specialist training in OT Cyber Security (e.g., SANS ICS410).
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements impacting operations (EHS, GxP, Global Engineering Standards).
