The Senior Paralegal at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating legal services for complex and high-value matters across various business units and projects. This position requires minimal supervision from a TNC attorney and demands an advanced level of expertise to ensure that all transactions and activities align with TNC's mission, authority, policies, and procedures. The Senior Paralegal will utilize their advanced knowledge and skills to meet organizational needs efficiently and effectively. They will be responsible for articulating relevant legal concepts and internal policies to others, demonstrating a solid understanding of legal liability and risk management. Additionally, the role involves organizing and tracking data, addressing systems issues, and communicating system needs to relevant stakeholders. The Senior Paralegal will consistently engage with legal issues and collaborate with teams focused on supporting TNC's philanthropy and fundraising activities. This includes addressing matters related to private foundations, planned giving, and compliance with fundraising regulations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a self-motivated attitude. They should be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and adept at tracking and completing various tasks simultaneously. Customer service skills are also essential, along with analytical experience in accounting and finance, which would be considered a plus. In terms of qualifications, candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree and have at least four years of combined legal and administrative experience, or equivalent qualifications that demonstrate significant responsibilities in supporting and coordinating complex legal work. Experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents, particularly contracts and grant agreements, is essential. The role also requires experience in administrative support activities, such as invoice review, meeting support, and taking minutes.
