About the position

The Senior Paralegal at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) plays a crucial role in supporting legal services for various business units or projects. This position requires advanced expertise to ensure that all transactions and activities align with TNC's mission and legal standards. The Senior Paralegal will work closely with the legal team to manage conservation real property acquisitions, review grant agreements, and draft contracts related to nature-based solutions for climate change. This role is essential for the successful implementation of a significant $200 million grant aimed at environmental conservation across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate legal services for assigned business units or projects.
• Ensure transactions and activities are legally sound and consistent with TNC's mission and policies.
• Assist in acquiring and protecting conservation real property.
• Review grant agreements that fund TNC's work.
• Draft and revise contracts for implementing nature-based solutions to climate change.
• Articulate relevant legal concepts and internal policies to others.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus at least 5 years of combined legal and administrative experience or equivalent qualifications.
• Legal experience with real estate transactions.
• Experience conducting research on the Internet and in other legal resources.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience in project and/or process management for efficient workflow.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and enterprise file management solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Legal experience with contracts and grants (private and/or governmental).
• Legal experience with large scale land acquisitions.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a decentralized organization.
