About the position

As a Senior Paralegal - Legal Analyst, you will be a vital member of our Employment and Labor Law team, directly reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Employment & Labor Law. In this role, you will provide essential support on a wide array of employment and labor matters, including project support and related assignments. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining and overseeing databases related to employment issues, collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure that matter management databases are current, and tracking deadlines effectively. You will also be involved in creating, developing, and analyzing data reports to monitor employment and labor-related matters, assisting in fact-finding activities, and supporting investigations of employment-related claims and administrative charges. In addition to these tasks, you will assist both in-house and outside counsel in managing federal and state pre-trial and court proceedings, responding to written discovery requests, and preparing various legal documents and presentations for attorney review. Your role will also include preparing written responses to inquiries from government agencies and private litigants, performing legal and factual research, and maintaining up-to-date department files. You will be expected to stay informed about developments in employment law and provide periodic updates on legislative changes. Collaboration with internal stakeholders at all levels will be crucial, as will providing administrative assistance, including managing billing information and scheduling meetings. This position may also require you to take on additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and overseeing databases related to employment matters.
  • Work with internal and external partners to keep matter management databases updated.
  • Create, develop, analyze, and maintain data reports for employment and labor matters.
  • Support investigations of employment-related claims and administrative charges.
  • Assist in managing federal and state pre-trial and court proceedings.
  • Respond to written discovery requests and prepare legal documents for attorney review.
  • Prepare written responses to government agency inquiries and private litigant subpoenas.
  • Perform legal and factual research on employment and compliance-related topics.
  • Organize and maintain department files and update them as necessary.
  • Identify, collect, and review company documents in response to litigation and discovery requests.
  • Maintain knowledge of developments in employment law and provide updates on changes.
  • Provide administrative assistance, including entering billing information and scheduling meetings.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Paralegal Certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in a corporate law department or law firm providing employment law support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Understanding of current employment and human resource-related laws.
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Word, Excel, eDiscovery techniques, and matter management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience supporting and/or managing an immigration portfolio.
  • Prior experience working with Human Resources to support compliance.
