The Senior Paralegal (USAO-Civil) position at CACI International involves providing a variety of direct paralegal services to assist Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) in their legal work. The role requires a proactive approach to seeking information and locating new sources of information to aid in investigations and litigation. This includes establishing contacts and corresponding with law enforcement, governmental officials, witnesses, and counsel. The paralegal will independently gather factual material, read and summarize transcripts and files, and prepare case-summary binders. Additionally, the position involves obtaining financial and statistical information, as well as agency, court, and public records, to support the AUSAs in their cases. The Senior Paralegal will also analyze documents and draft court filings and memoranda for AUSA review. A strong working knowledge of federal and state court systems, civil litigation, civil discovery, legal research procedures, and financial fraud investigations is essential. The role requires organizing and managing a substantial quantity of records, often involving hundreds of thousands of pages of electronically stored evidence per case. Conducting financial analyses and related investigations to determine the ability of individuals and organizations to satisfy judgments or settlements is also a key responsibility. In addition to these tasks, the Senior Paralegal will prepare subpoenas, review and summarize large document productions, assist attorneys with trials and depositions, and analyze health care billing and treatment records. The position requires proficiency in various computer applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets, as well as familiarity with eDiscovery tools and procedures. The paralegal will also provide automated litigation support to attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom presentations, utilizing software applications and graphics hardware to prepare documents and visual materials. Occasional travel may be necessary for case-related activities, special projects, or training.
