About The Position

The Senior Patient Account Representative plays a crucial role in overseeing the billing process for various payer sources, ensuring accuracy and compliance in claims management. This position involves training team members, conducting audits, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the department. The representative will also support the Skilled Nursing Facility Accounts Receivable functions and assist with special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related preferred.
• Four years of related experience required.
• Previous Medicare online billing experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee charges input and billing to various payer sources.
• Provide training to new and existing Patient Account Representative team members.
• Administer activities associated with divestitures including month-end close tasks.
• Conduct and respond to audit requests.
• Assist with system and end-user testing as needed.
• Develop and implement efficiencies within the department for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with supervisors to provide necessary support.
• Complete special projects assigned by the management team.
• Cross train and support Skilled Nursing Facility Accounts Receivable Business Analyst functions where applicable.
• Manage credit balance reports, write-offs, and refunds.
