About the position

The Senior Payloads Engineer role at Boeing involves leading the development and integration of interior payload systems for commercial airplanes. This position requires collaboration across various engineering teams to ensure compliance with design requirements and regulatory standards throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will also engage with suppliers and manage performance to optimize designs and achieve program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, integration, and documentation of interior payload system requirements.
  • Performs or oversees approval of analyses and test/inspection results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Leads teams on managing supplier performance, test and production activities, and coordinates with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals.
  • Leads the development of new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Leads teams to develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component design using 3-D CAD tools to provide product definition to other engineering groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 9+ years of experience in Structure and/or Payload Design Engineering.
  • 9+ years of experience with commercial airplanes or commercial derivatives.
  • 5+ years of experience with REDARS, CATIA, ENOVIA & PSDS.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
  • 5+ years of freighter aircraft experience.
  • Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.
  • 9+ years of experience in program or project management.
