About the position

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative was founded by Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg in 2015 to help solve some of society's toughest challenges - from eradicating disease and improving education to addressing the needs of our local communities. Our mission is to build a more inclusive, just, and healthy future for everyone. The Payroll team is a small high energy group within the Finance team at CZI. We're passionate about providing efficient, accurate, and compliant payroll operations to employees across all CZI initiatives and functions. We leverage world-class technology and systems, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure employees are paid reliably and promptly. As a Payroll Manager, you will serve as a key contributor to our team, overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and federal, state, and local tax compliance. You will be critical in building and improving operational and technical payroll processes to support our diverse and dynamic workforce. This is a hands-on role where you will lead and mentor a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment. If you are a subject matter expert in payroll with exceptional communication and organizational skills and a passion for continuous improvement, we encourage you to apply! This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller, collaborates closely with cross-functional partners, and will directly manage two payroll managers.
