About the position

Yardi is currently seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage and execute biweekly full-cycle payroll processing for our 2,000+ employee workforce. This pivotal role extends to assisting the Team Leader and Payroll Manager with payroll operations spanning multiple offices and countries. The ideal candidate will lead responses to audits and will be regarded as a subject matter expert on payroll procedures and regulatory compliance. Your expertise will ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, contributing to our company's success and employee satisfaction. In this role, you will verify employee timesheet data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws. You will manage time off balances and accruals, ensuring that taxes, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related elements are accurately calculated, documented, and processed. Additionally, you will research and process retroactive payments in compliance with company policies and procedures. It is essential to ensure that employee payroll data is up-to-date and that all data changes (address changes, direct deposit updates, rate changes, tax changes, etc.) are processed in compliance with company policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for answering employee questions regarding their pay statements and handling escalated questions from junior team members. Leading the processing of new hires and terminations, you will calculate and prepare final payments for employee terminations and assist with year-end processing. Managing wage garnishments, including responding to and complying with government requests, providing required documentation, and implementing withholdings, will also be part of your responsibilities. You will prepare and remit information for internal and external audits for compliance purposes and respond to verification of employment requests. Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and labor laws is crucial, as is exercising and maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Additionally, you will support international offices with timesheets, processing payroll, and other payroll-related tasks, and work on special projects as directed by management.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years (5+) of payroll processing experience.
  • Prior experience with international payroll across multiple countries.
  • Advanced ADP payroll system knowledge and proficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 desktop applications, expertise using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to perform payroll calculations, deductions, wage garnishments, etc.
  • Knowledge of international payroll processing and regulations.
  • Proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as a team.
