About the position

Qualtrics is seeking a self-motivated Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our payroll processes are efficient and effective, directly impacting the employee experience at Qualtrics. The Payroll team is dedicated to continuous improvement, constantly looking for ways to enhance our processes and better support our employees. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to work cross-functionally across various departments, including Legal, Compensation, People Data, Benefits, Accounting, Finance, and Recruiting, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of how these areas interconnect and function together. In this role, you will assist and support payroll operations across the Americas, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia. You will own projects and processes from end to end, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of any impacts. Your responsibilities will include conducting audits of payroll, benefits, and long-term incentives, as well as researching payroll, tax, and absence regulations to ensure compliance. You will also be responsible for maintaining the overall data quality of employment records, completing employment verifications, and assisting in annual audits with external auditors. Additionally, you will provide training on payroll processes to both the team and employees, enhancing their understanding and engagement with payroll operations. The Payroll team operates in a fast-paced environment where meeting strict bank deadlines is crucial. You will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that contribute to the company's financial health while fostering a collaborative and enjoyable team culture. The role also offers the chance to implement new software systems and create new processes, allowing for greater efficiencies and continuous learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support payrolls in the Americas, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia.
  • Own projects and processes from end to end, communicating impacts to proper stakeholders.
  • Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, long-term incentives, and other programs and recommend corrective actions where needed.
  • Research payroll, tax, and absence regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure overall data quality with employment records.
  • Complete employment verifications and unemployment claims.
  • Assist in annual audits with external auditors.
  • Provide training on payroll processes to both the team and employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Human Resources, Finance, etc).
  • 3 to 5 years of prior payroll or related experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with different timekeeping and payroll processing software.
  • Experience with building and implementing new systems.
