About the position

As a Senior Payroll Specialist at 3Phase Elevator Corporation, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire payroll process, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of payroll functions within the organization, utilizing advanced payroll systems to enhance efficiency and support timely payroll execution.

Responsibilities

  • Verify data for compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Prepare and upload payroll data into our HRIS system, iSolved, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform complex spreadsheet analysis using VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and other Excel functions to support payroll accuracy.
  • Manage weekly expense reports, bonuses, and other ongoing payroll maintenance.
  • Maintain and update pay rates, memo accumulations, and deductions within the payroll system.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely distribution of W2 forms to employees.
  • Resolve state/local tax, child support, and garnishment inquiries from government agencies.
  • Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries and process payroll changes as requested.
  • Remit weekly 401(k) contributions for all employees.
  • Process monthly hours reporting and payments for Union benefits.
  • Facilitate audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance.
  • Work closely with branch offices to ensure adherence to payroll processes across all locations.
  • Complete employment verification requests accurately and promptly.
  • Complete weekly and monthly payroll journal entries for accounting purposes.
  • Assist with certified payroll reporting as needed.
  • Support additional payroll-related special projects as they arise.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of full-cycle payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
  • Experience with union payroll processing and new payroll system implementations.
  • Proficiency with systems such as iSolved, UKG, ADP, and Paychex.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Knowledge of Third Party Administrator file feed management.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and payroll reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll practices, payroll accounting procedures, tax laws, and labor regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
