The Care New England Senior Payroll Specialist operates at an advanced level in the processing and monitoring of payrolls, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures as well as collective bargaining agreements. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of payroll operations and requires a high level of expertise in payroll processing. The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll, which includes data entry, proofing, auditing, and problem resolution. This position not only handles complex payroll tasks but also serves as a mentor to Payroll Specialists, providing guidance and support in their daily operations. The Senior Payroll Specialist must be adept at answering complex questions related to payroll and ensuring that all processes comply with established policies and regulations. Additionally, the role may involve other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the payroll department.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll including data entry, proofing, auditing, and problem resolution.
  • Answer complex payroll-related questions and mentor Payroll Specialists.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of payroll experience.
  • Familiarity with automated equipment and ability to perform computations/calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in the English language.
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently.
