About the position

IntelliSource is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist who is not only accurate and efficient but also diligent in their work. This position is crucial for ensuring that payroll processes are handled with precision and confidentiality. The role is a temp-to-hire opportunity located in Carson City and/or USA Parkway, with a starting pay of $30 per hour. The ideal candidate will be someone who is good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information, reflecting the importance of this role in maintaining the integrity of payroll operations. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll using our payroll software. This includes calculating wages for hours worked based on our time clock, processing reimbursements, bonuses, and holiday pay in compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws. You will also be tasked with updating employee profiles in the payroll system to accurately reflect deductions for medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as 401k contributions. Additionally, you will upload data to our 401k provider on a bi-weekly basis and address any payroll-related questions from employees and superiors. Your role will also involve administering voucher invoices accurately to ensure that vendors are paid within the agreed terms. Effective communication with vendors and colleagues will be essential to resolve any invoice issues that may arise. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll complexities, including hourly and non-exempt payroll, timecards, shift differentials, overtime, and leaves. Knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations is critical, and while experience with sales/use tax rules is a plus, it is not mandatory. Responsibilities

  • Processing bi-weekly payroll using payroll software, including wages for hours worked, reimbursements, bonuses, and holiday pay.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working on payroll accounts as a payroll specialist.
  • Understanding of hourly and non-exempt payroll complexities, including timecards, shift differentials, overtime, and leaves.
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations in the payroll field.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Workday.
  • Trustworthy with a strong attention to confidentiality.
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • BA/BS in business, accounting, or a relevant field is mandatory (or equivalent years of experience).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with sales/use tax rules is a plus but not mandatory.
