About the position

The Senior Payroll Technician position at Clark County's Department of Finance involves overseeing payroll processes for all employees, ensuring accurate computation and processing of payroll adjustments, and preparing various payroll-related reports. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of payroll operations and requires collaboration with multiple departments to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation of the County's payroll for all employees.
• Assist with computing and processing payroll adjustments.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly reports, including PERS reports.
• Process payroll deductions and direct deposits.
• Prepare tax documents and payroll tax deposits.
• Research records to verify wages as needed.
• Monitor and audit timecards for accuracy.
• Provide input and assist with testing system updates.
• Analyze payroll/timekeeping data to generate reports.
• Coordinate with department liaisons and Human Resources personnel.

Requirements

• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Four (4) years of full-time accounting or financial office clerical experience.
• Experience with automated payroll and personnel systems, such as SAP.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with wage garnishments.
• Knowledge of Worker's Compensation and FMLA regulations.
