About the position

The Senior Penetration Testing Engineer will lead efforts in ensuring the security of Walmart's vast digital infrastructure. This role involves developing exploits, conducting penetration tests, and mentoring junior security practitioners. The engineer will work on a variety of platforms and technologies, influencing both technical and business strategies to mitigate risks associated with key business solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop exploits and customized proof of concepts for diverse targets and tech stacks
  • Utilize advanced tools for penetration testing and exploiting vulnerabilities
  • Research and continuously improve skills to emulate attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Articulate technical risks associated with key business solutions to influence strategies
  • Provide security and vulnerability remediation expertise to technology stakeholders
  • Mentor and share knowledge with other security practitioners and technology stakeholders
  • Assist in implementing advanced security technology solutions through feasibility studies and product comparisons
  • Maintain and advance security expertise by reviewing new technologies and current security standards

Requirements

  • 1 - 7 years of Information Security experience
  • Experience using penetration testing tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on Website/API tests or other applicable penetration tests
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area with 3 years' experience in application security, or 5 years' experience in application security at a technology, retail, or data-driven company

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Security+, GISF, CISSP, CSSP, CASE, or GWEB
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related area
  • Exposure to leading or working on Information Security/Cyber Security Projects
  • Knowledge of implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies
