About the position

The Senior PHP Developer at Round Sky Inc. is responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance applications in a Linux environment. This role requires extensive experience with PHP and SQL databases, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a team to solve complex problems. The developer will participate in planning meetings, conduct code reviews, and integrate third-party APIs into the company's systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in team planning meetings for new features/functionality and daily/weekly scrum meetings.
• Work independently on tasks and test your own code.
• Code review other programmers' work and suggest improvements when needed.
• Work with 3rd party APIs to integrate into our system and assist other companies in integrating with our Restful API.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or extensive experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 7 years of experience with PHP + MySQL/MariaDB databases, 10+ years preferred.
• A solid understanding of SQL databases including concurrency issues, optimizing queries for speed, indexes, etc.
• OOP programming - comfortable with classes, building code that can be modular and reusable.
• Experience with PHP 8+, GIT, Github flow, MySQL/MariaDB, and Linux.
• Experience with Docker, Docker Swarm and/or Kubernetes, Javascript/jQuery, CSS, and HTML.
