About the position

The Senior PI Developer will play a crucial role in achieving enterprise historian objectives by designing and implementing a data and analytics platform that supports operational real-time data management. This position focuses on the AVEVA OSIsoft PI historian, leading installation, implementation, upgrades, and configuration while developing analytics data processes to enhance strategic outcomes. The role involves collaboration with peers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring the continuous availability of the OSI PI Historian for various operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with peers to translate business requirements into Technical Design Specifications and develop code for Control Center applications.
• Ensure continuous availability of the OSI PI Historian for pipeline operations, facilities, tank farm management, and product deliveries.
• Support AVEVA OSI PI Data Historian infrastructure for pipeline operations and control centers.
• Install and configure PI OPC Interfaces with failover and design the PI buffer subsystem.
• Administer PI Vision Servers, PI-AF SDK/PI Web API, and develop PI Vision pages.
• Handle configuration, coding, and testing related to PI Data Historian, including creation/modification of PI tags and dashboards.
• Manage technical aspects of assigned projects, including planning and resolving application issues.
• Develop software in PI Visualization Suite, PI Integrator for Google Cloud, and PI AF System Explorer.
• Investigate and solve complex software applications and problems using advanced methods and theories.
• Resolve hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
• Conduct system installation, configuration, performance testing, and tuning.
• Develop system models, visualizations, dashboards, analytical equations, and reports.
• Provide input for writing and updating technical documentation and training materials.
• Serve as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure timely requirement fulfillment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial or Control Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience as an AVEVA PI Developer, focusing on developing AVEVA PI system applications and data modeling.
• Ability to respond to system alerts 24x7 to resolve issues and ensure application availability.
• Exceptional knowledge of AVEVA OSIsoft PI-Historian and programming in C#, .Net, Visual Studio, SSIS, API/Adapter calls, SQL.
• Deep experience with OSIsoft PI System functional modules in a production environment, including at least two full life cycle implementations.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in the Energy Sector.
• AVEVA Certified in Developing Applications with PI AFSDK and PI WEB API.
• AVEVA Certificate in Developing Applications with PI DATALINK, PI SQL, and PI System Administration.
