About the position

The Senior PI Developer at Colonial Pipeline Company is responsible for achieving enterprise historian objectives and implementing a data and analytics platform that supports operational excellence. This role focuses on the AVEVA OSIsoft PI historian, ensuring real-time data availability and driving analytics processes to enhance strategic outcomes. The position involves leading installations, configurations, and upgrades of the PI system, as well as developing analytics solutions for pipeline operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with peers to translate business requirements into Technical Design Specifications and develop code for Control Center applications.
• Ensure continuous availability of the OSI PI Historian for pipeline operations, facilities, tank farm management, and product deliveries.
• Support AVEVA OSI PI Data Historian infrastructure for pipeline operations and control centers.
• Install and configure PI OPC Interfaces with failover and design PI buffer subsystems.
• Administer PI Vision Servers, PI-AF SDK/PI Web API, and develop PI Vision pages.
• Handle configuration, coding, and testing related to PI Data Historian, including creation/modification of PI tags and dashboards.
• Manage technical aspects of assigned projects, including planning and resolving application issues.
• Develop software in PI Visualization Suite, PI Integrator for Google Cloud, and PI AF System Explorer.
• Investigate and solve complex software application problems using advanced methods and theories.
• Resolve hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
• Conduct system installation, configuration, performance testing, and tuning.
• Develop system models, visualizations, dashboards, analytical equations, and reports.
• Provide input for writing and updating technical documentation and best practice designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Control Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an AVEVA PI Developer, including developing AVEVA PI system applications and data modeling.
• Ability to respond to system alerts 24/7 to resolve issues and ensure application availability.
• Exceptional knowledge of AVEVA OSIsoft PI-Historian and programming in C#, .Net, Visual Studio, SSIS, API/Adapter calls, SQL.
• Hands-on experience with OSIsoft PI System functional modules in a production environment.
• Experience with at least two full life cycle implementations of OSIsoft PI System modules.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in the Energy Sector.
• AVEVA Certified in Developing Applications with PI AFSDK and PI WEB API.
• AVEVA Certificate in Developing Applications with PI DATALINK and PI SQL.
• Basic programming skills in Python.
