About the position

The Senior PI Developer at Colonial Pipeline Company is responsible for achieving enterprise historian objectives and implementing a data and analytics platform that supports operational excellence. This role involves leading the installation, implementation, and configuration of the AVEVA OSIsoft PI System, as well as developing analytics data processes to enhance strategic outcomes. The position requires collaboration with peers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring the continuous availability of the OSI PI Historian for various pipeline operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with peers to translate business requirements into Technical Design Specifications.
• Design and develop code for Control Center applications as required.
• Ensure the continuous availability of the OSI PI Historian for pipeline operations, facilities, tank farm management, and product deliveries.
• Provide support for AVEVA OSI PI Data Historian infrastructure.
• Install and configure PI OPC Interfaces with failover.
• Configure PI buffer Subsystem (upgrade and design).
• Administer PI Vision Servers, PI-AF SDK/PI Web API, and PI Datalink.
• Develop and administer PI Vision pages and compliance activities.
• Manage technical aspects of assigned projects, including planning and resolving application issues.
• Develop and apply advanced methods and theories in software applications and problem-solving.
• Resolve complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
• Develop system models, visualizations, dashboards, analytical equations, and reports.
• Provide input for writing and updating technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial or Control Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an AVEVA PI Developer in developing AVEVA PI system applications.
• Exceptional knowledge and experience with the AVEVA OSIsoft PI-Historian.
• Programming experience in C#, .Net, Visual Studio, SSIS, API/Adapter calls, SQL.
• Hands-on experience in one or more of the OSIsoft PI System functional modules in a production environment.
• Experience with at least two full life cycle implementations of OSIsoft PI System modules.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 4+ years in the Energy Sector.
• AVEVA Certified in Developing Applications with PI AFSDK and PI WEB API.
• Basic programming skill in Python.
