About the position

The Senior PL/SQL Backend Developer role involves collaborating with internal teams to develop and maintain software solutions, focusing on PL/SQL applications. The position requires extensive experience in PL/SQL development, including writing and optimizing code, and providing production support. The developer will work both onsite and remotely, depending on client needs, and will be responsible for improving existing software and fixing defects in legacy code.

Responsibilities

• Taking direction from senior developers and collaborating with internal teams to produce software.
• Participating in requirements analysis.
• Interpreting business requirement documents; writing clean, scalable, and functional code; unit testing code; preparing applications for deployment to production; and creating documentation as required.
• Fixing defects in legacy code.
• Working with source control on multiple simultaneous branches.
• Providing production support as needed, including being available to provide third tier support to the help desk on assigned weekends and holidays if needed.
• Improving existing software.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience and expert level experience as a PL/SQL Application Developer using Toad, SQLPlus.
• Ability to create views, packages, functions, and stored procedures in PL/SQL.
• Ability to work with collections and async processes.
• Ability to interpret execution plans and optimize queries and functions.
• Ability to create complex DML and debug it as needed.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
