About the position

The Senior Planner for New Product Development at Shiseido is responsible for managing the launch of new products, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the quality standards set by the HQ Brand. This role requires strong project management skills, effective communication, and a keen attention to detail, particularly in packaging and cost management. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including counterparts in Japan, and requires the ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all new launches deliver on time, at target cost, and at the quality of the HQ Brand's conception.
  • Drive multiple projects and work with cross-functional partners to complete project tasks and key milestones on time.
  • Utilize MS Project for timeline management and update timelines on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, and costs to all levels of cross-functional teams, including senior leaders.
  • Lead risk mitigation and problem-solving processes for complex launches and innovations.
  • Manage timelines, costs, and launch execution using multiple systems and software.
  • Lead and drive project status meetings across all organizational levels.
  • Assist in resolving Package Quality issues and liaise with the Packaging lab for testing as needed.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a technical or project management role, preferably in package development within the beauty industry.
  • Project management experience and proficiency in MS Project.
  • Basic understanding of the end-to-end product development and launch process.
  • Analytical, financial, and organizational skills are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Action-oriented with the ability to deliver results and serve as the point person for cross-functional teams on launch matters.
  • Ability to build a strong network and work collaboratively with a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Packaging Engineering experience is helpful.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Business is preferred.
