About The Position

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years of progressive maintenance experience in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations, including five (5) years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Associates in a technical field and six (6) years related experience in field maintenance in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations, including three (3) years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field and four (4) years of progressive maintenance experience in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong mentoring capabilities in leadership, professionalism, and organization/technical skills.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Freeport-McMoRan standards, practices, and strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in SAP and related software for maintenance functions.
  • Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring, and administration.
  • Competency in MS Office software and significant project organization experience.
  • Thorough understanding of parts/materials management process and SAP parts inventory process.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with staff at various levels.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise the division Planners and other planning department staff.
  • Set meaningful objectives for the division Planners and develop effective working relationships with front line supervisors.
  • Monitor and ensure quality control of planning processes through data measurement and adherence to safety policies.
  • Support the Superintendent in achieving safe job outcomes and departmental effectiveness.
  • Manage planning/scheduling processes for daily, short term, and long range planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Ensure quality control in the application of planning processes and procedures.
  • Facilitate communication and preparation for intradepartmental activities and requirements.
  • Drive the divisional 'Runtime Forecasting' process and oversee the development of detailed monthly plans.
  • Conduct success-against-plan analysis each month and prepare budget recommendations for the Superintendent.
  • Spend time in the field reviewing job preparation, execution, and follow up.
  • Provide timely feedback to the division Superintendent on planning processes and schedules.
