About the position

The position oversees the division planning function at Freeport-McMoRan, focusing on effective job planning, scheduling, and communication. The role involves direct supervision of planning staff, ensuring adherence to safety policies, and achieving operational excellence in maintenance activities. The individual will manage planning processes, budget forecasting, and runtime forecasting while fostering strong relationships with front line supervisors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the division Planners and other planning department staff.
• Ensure effective job planning, scheduling, communication, and preparations.
• Monitor and quality control planning processes through data measurement.
• Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
• Support the Superintendent's success in achieving safe job outcomes and departmental effectiveness.
• Manage planning/scheduling processes for daily, short term, and long range planning.
• Drive the divisional 'Runtime Forecasting' process execution and outcomes.
• Collate and prepare division planning budget recommendations for the Superintendent.
• Spend time in the field reviewing job preparation, execution, and follow up.
• Provide adequate and timely feedback to the division Superintendent on planning processes and schedules.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years of progressive maintenance experience in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations, including five (5) years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Associates in a technical field and six (6) years related experience in field maintenance in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations, including three (3) years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in applicable field and four (4) years of progressive maintenance experience in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations including supervisory or lead experience.
• Strong mentoring capabilities in leadership, professionalism, organization/technical skills.
• Extensive working knowledge of Freeport-McMoRan standards, practices, and strategies.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in SAP, including maintenance, operations, statistics, and related modules.
• Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring, and administration.
• Competency in use of MS Office software.
• Significant project organization experience.

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
