About the position

The Senior Plant Mechanic at Banner Health is responsible for conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on the facility's power plant and infrastructure equipment. This role involves overseeing mechanical systems such as boilers, chillers, and emergency generators, ensuring compliance with regulatory codes, and coordinating maintenance programs to maintain operational integrity. Responsibilities

• Inspect and service facility utilities equipment and systems.
• Coordinate the preventative maintenance program for utility and infrastructure systems.
• Work with other divisions to meet maintenance and construction needs.
• Schedule and monitor maintenance repair work and renovations.
• Instruct personnel on infrastructure and utility hazards and safe equipment operation.
• Maintain records for facility compliance with regulatory codes.
• Oversee and maintain inventory of parts and materials within budget constraints.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience as a plant mechanic, stationary engineer, boiler operator, or refrigeration mechanic.
• Working knowledge of utility and infrastructure systems in a healthcare environment.
• Current Boiler Operator's License if required by state regulations.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory codes and local building codes.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in common office software and specific plant software.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous construction experience.
• Three to five years of healthcare Facilities Services experience.
• Additional related education or experience.
