The Senior Platform Dev Ops Engineer plays a crucial role in managing processes and technologies that drive business value by delivering high-quality software efficiently and at scale. This position focuses on standardized platforms that are built and managed through automation, ensuring that the Sherwin-Williams Store hardware and applications are designed, configured, and supported in a global environment. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining current software levels, patches, features, and configurations for IT systems, providing comprehensive documentation across multiple environments, and cross-training team members on supported technologies. Additionally, this role supports project teams in delivering new capabilities to customers, ensuring that the technology aligns with business needs and strategic goals. In terms of strategy and planning, the Senior Platform Dev Ops Engineer will support management in implementing long-term strategic goals for technologies and related products, working closely with business owners and department managers. The role involves collaborating with development staff to implement architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies. The engineer will also assist in designing and implementing redundant systems, backup/recovery policies, disaster recovery plans, monitoring, alerting, and data archiving to protect and maintain the integrity of data assets. Furthermore, the engineer will develop plans for evaluating and implementing new software versions, technologies, and processes, as well as capacity and scalability planning efforts. In the acquisition and deployment phase, the engineer will support management in ensuring the quality of new applications and systems software, implementing software products and services, and conducting feasibility studies for potential system products. The role requires collaboration with analysts, designers, and system owners to test software programs and applications, as well as participation in server lifecycle management and technology upgrades. Security measures will also be a key focus, ensuring that information is safeguarded against unauthorized access or damage. Operational management responsibilities include assisting in the design, engineering, configuration, operation, and maintenance of secure and scalable internet/intranet hardware and software infrastructure for PSG Stores' applications. The engineer will document installation and configuration standards, troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, and develop automated deployment processes for digital assets across development, quality assurance, and production environments. Performance tuning of application servers will be conducted in conjunction with the Application Performance Management team, and the engineer will plan and complete projects based on high-level requirements with minimal guidance. This role also supports a 24x7 global support model for production environments, ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
