About the position

As a Senior Platform DevSecOps Engineer at Raytheon, you will play a pivotal role in ushering in a transformative era in software engineering, emphasizing the integration of development and operations through a comprehensive cloud-based platform. This position is essential for shaping the future of software development, enabling the efficient delivery of high-quality, secure software by providing automated services that allow software engineers to concentrate on developing mission capabilities. Your core responsibilities will include the design, development, implementation, and integration of a predominantly cloud-based compute, network, and storage infrastructure. You will also support the modernization of the program platform's overarching design through the adoption of emerging technologies and the use of DevOps/DevSecOps tools and automation. This will streamline processes, enhance collaboration, and accelerate release cycles, driving efficiency and innovation. You will be part of a team responsible for the development and operational environments of a large program that produces a critical national asset. Your work will involve a combination of hands-on engineering tasks, documentation, and baseline control. The role requires you to support the transition of a system that is tightly coupled to the underlying infrastructure, assist with the architecture, design, development, integration, and support of build, integration & test, and deployment pipelines, all while optimizing for performance and scalability across cloud-based computing environments. You will leverage both company and industry best practices to improve scalability, consistency, and infrastructure efficiency, reduce deployment time, and automate configuration management. Collaboration with software engineers, data scientists, and other agile development teams will be crucial as you design and implement robust platform solutions, integrating security and compliance into the platform with services such as encryption and access management. Additionally, you will provide operational support for the platform, ensuring its reliability and performance.
