About the position

The Senior Platform Engineer at Capital One will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the Human Resource technology ecosystem. This position focuses on building resilient solutions within Workday, driving automation, and enhancing business processes to meet the needs of the organization. The engineer will collaborate with product owners and HR partners to deliver high-quality solutions across various HR modules, ensuring effective communication and continuous improvement in processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.
  • Translate business priorities while integrating HR value propositions and strategies.
  • Deliver solutions in Workday across HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Payroll, and Benefits.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders to influence solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with HR partners to redesign business processes.
  • Research, test, and stay updated on Workday updates, fixes, and capabilities.
  • Build and maintain thorough documentation for system implementation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for questions related to the system from both business and technical perspectives.
  • Provide production support for Workday by troubleshooting problems and working with the business to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
  • At least 4 years experience in platform engineering on HR platforms (Workday, Peoplesoft, or Successfactors).
  • At least 2 years of experience designing and developing integration solutions.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with APIs within the Workday environment using REST or SOAP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Workday Human Resources modules including HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting or Talent and Performance Management.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing integration solutions in Workday using Core Connectors, Workday Studio, Custom Reports or RaaS solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience working with APIs within the Workday environment using REST or SOAP.
  • Workday Integration Developer certifications.
  • 1+ years designing and developing solutions using Workday Extend.
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure or another cloud service.
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
